Mangrove Acoustic Fossil, is a project initiated in 2023 to address social and environmental issues surrounding Caribbean mangrove ecosystems in Colombia. Using critical organology and speculative fiction as guiding concepts, the project involved creating a portable listening device activated with local communities at the mangroves in Rincón del Mar and La Boquilla. The device facilitated an immersive sound experience, fostering a deeper connection with the mangroves and highlighting their ecological and cultural significance. The project emphasizes collaborative environmental regeneration and communal listening as responses to climate change and historical violence.
