The image of Arabidopsis thaliana growing in real time and space, enters the exhibition at MAMBO through the Antena sculpture: a satellite antenna, as a found object, reverses the sequence of image transmission by providing Arabidopsis thaliana a surface to grow on. The plant is monitored by a surveillance camera 24/7, a real time image that contextualizes the time-lapse laboratory footage in the installation. Projected on a separate TV screen at the entrance to the exhibition, the real time image renders a temporal and visual calibrating moment for the whole experience.
