The work Fever explores the transgressive dimension of
gold as a historical substance in Colombian history. Fever
departures from images made under a microscope
of gold nuggets collected from multiple Colombian
rivers. The drawings are the product of an amalgam of
graphite and gold leaves. The combination of both materials
creates a reflective surface that oscillates from
the shine of the gold and the reflective property of the
graphite.
The drawings are in an in-betweenness of a drawing
and a sculpture. The three-dimensional surfaces of the
drawing invite the spectator to explore the subtle nuances
of the gold fever.
